Dear friends,
This morning i have opened the sunroof and when i have closed it, i could observe that posterior part of the sunroof has trapped between into the space where sunroof enters. Now i can see the green roof plate and i can't to take out this part of the sunroof. Someone has had this problem and how can i solve it?? i have attached pictures

If you pull off the overhead consolel there is a fitting in the center to be able to manually crank it . My sunroof is sealed shut from the previous owner as it was out of adjustment . I guess it was over his head . So as to getting a good reference and understanding these are the TSBs on the matter . I'm at the point now to break the seal and get it squared up .

I have now removed the sealant that the previous owner had covered the outside gap with as it was out of adjustment on the outside roofline . The posterior cover cover is missing on the inside but I can see the arms actuate forward and hit the monkey motion linkage of the outside cover . There must be a current sensing switch in the ECU for it stops coming forward and reverses back . This is before the main outside cover moves at all . The main cover is about an inch from closed position .
Reach back with a bent coat-hanger and drag the part back into place. It might need to be pulled one side and then the other a little at a time.
You need that part in place to catch water drips and channel the water to the sides to drain properly.
There are parts either broken or displaced that hold the sliding part to the main sliding panel.

I had a similar issue with my sunroof when I bought my Jag. The previous owner had sealed it shut because of a leak (actually a blocked drain tube - sunroofs are not designed to seal), but I found that the tilt/slide mechanism was hopelessly broken when I took the unit apart. These parts are very expensive, so be extremely careful messing about in there. (Fortunately, I was able to buy a working assembly from an auto wrecker at a very reasonable price.)

If you are comfortable with finicky work, I would suggest removing the main panel by tilting the sunroof (with sunroof closed, press the forward button and the sunroof should tilt). From outside the car, you can gently slide the upholstered main panel out. Wear gloves or keep your hands very clean - you don't want grease from the mechanism getting on your upholstery! There are two spring clips - be careful to note how they are attached - near the rear of the panel on either side. At the front end of the panel there is a sort of hook and post arrangement that attaches the upholstered panel to the metal sunroof panel. This can be a bit of a chore to line up right when you are re-installing. When you have removed the upholstered panel, you should be able to see the Torx screws that attach the metal sunroof panel to the tilt/slide mechanism. (I think there are 3 on each side, but it has been a while.) After removing the sunroof, you will be able to see the mechanism much better in order to reattach the small rear panel. The rear panel clicks into a holder which up and back on a track. Be careful if removing, the plastic tabs are quite fragile, especially as they age.) This holder has a circular hole at the front end to which the tilt/slide arm attaches. I suspect yours has become unattached here.
Hope this helps.

I have the same problem. Both the rear and forward panel slide freely of the sunroof. I recently removed them and had them upholstered, found a couple things broken up there. Not bothering with it as a never open the sunroof and just leave those panels in place. There is two plastic rails that connect to it on each side that ride in the channels. I'd assume one or both are broken.
I removed the seal up top and ran it electrically to see the arms try to bring the missing inter panel forward until the arms hit the monkey motion linkage on the sides then stops . This without ever moving the outer panel to seal the gap as originally purchased . Ran it back and forth until reaching manual stops . No movement of outer panel . Will have to remove the whole sunroof assembly by removing the headliner to get a better view of the side monkey motion linkage .
Will have to put it on the back burner prioritizing other areas to get it back on the road .
