Sunroof not working
Hi,
Out of nowhere my sunroof stopped working. I verified that the fuse was good. I got as far as pulling down the top cover by the sunroof switch. I hear absolutely nothing when I push the switch.
I am thinking that the motor is not getting 12v or ground as I would think that the motor would make some noise otherwise.
While I investigate a bit more (until the sun goes down) I was hoping that I could get some advise as what to do next.

I just looked more closely at the motor and I can't see any wires going to it unless I pull the motor. So I am wondering if someone can tell me which are the motor wires.
I think I found where to manually open/close the sunroof. The thing is that I can only raise and lower the rear of the sunroof but it will not move horizontally (open/close). Is this the way the cranking should be working?

Hi,
I know see that the sunroof switch is part of the circuit board. I confirmed that it is working. I then pulled the motor and bench checked it and it failed. I opened up the motor but was unable to fix it. I purchased a used motor from ebay for $20 (yes, $20) and received it today. I put in the motor and the sunroof opened and closed.
I thought that was an easy fix until I tried to open the sunroof again and it would not work. Bad motor? I pulled the motor and tested it and it worked. I put it back in the car and the sunroof opened and closed. Maybe I did not plug things in well. Job completed. Well, not really as the sunroof will not work all the time. It seems (from just a few tries) that if I pull the plug on the srcm and plug it back in then it operates correctly. I will look more into this tomorrow.
Does this sound like a bad control module? Could that have killed the 1st motor?

Update?
Hi, did you get it figured out? I was wondering because I am having issues with my 05 s type sunroof. Motor seems to work and the button on mine seems to work. I’m looking at motor, cable, and switch. What was it with yours? The switch/board computer thing or something mechanical?
