For the past 6 months or so I have been using a tape-device-thingie so I can listen to my iPod in the car. No problems. Now all of a sudden the tape player won't let me use it anymore. Anytime I put it in it keeps skipping to side 2, then back to side 1 then back to side 2 add infinitum. Any suggestions?

 

I use a "tape-device-thingie" too, and every 6 months or so, I need to buy a new one because it goes bad. That could be your problem.

 

Ah I see. Those damn tape-device-thingies can get kind of expensive though......Jaguar should have foreseen the future and installed auxiliary jacks in all of their cars

 

I pay about $10 at Walmart for my tape cassette. I wouldn't call that very expensive.

 

That happens with mine occasionally when I first insert it. If I pull and push at the wire a little bit it will stop flipping sides. Unfortunately, pushing or pulling too much will mis-align the head and the sound will suck. But It's usually not a problem

 

I actually just opened up my tape thingie and took out all the stupid parts that didn't mean anything (the fake gears) and it works like a champ now.
