Default Thermostat

I just replaced the thermostat in my 96 xj6 4.0 litre and now the needle sits just shy of the "N" position, as it should (as opposed to wandering all over the place, but mostly hovering in the "Blue"). It does seem to get up to normal operating temperature rather quickly though, in about 4 minutes, but it is quite warm here in Ireland at the moment. Would this be about right? Any thoughts? Thanks.
