Every day something about this car makes me smile (not visits to the petrol pumps though, oh no sir that definitely doesn't) A 23 year old car, had quite a few owners to be honest, and then I find the original Jaguar tool kit not only still there, but complete and in fact still sealed in the original cellophane
Steve7292, great find! One thing I did notice is that it looks like your upper radiator bushings that hold it in place are shot. If you grab the radiator at the top you will be able to move it back and forth which is not correct. There are two upper and two lower rubber bushings that will need to get replaced. I have used the URO brand bushings for this which are a tougher rubber than the soft originals. They are also quite inexpensive.
As a side note I am from Scotland originally and moved to the USA in 1969.

Hi Scotlad, you never quite lose your roots eh? 👍 I only acquired this beast a wee while ago and still finding out all the good and bad bits and I've got a few bits and pieces on the way already. Thanks for the tip on URO bushes being stronger, I'll try to source some here. And that tool kit is staying sealed 😊
Steve7292, while you are replacing the radiator bushings you should check-replace the air con.condenser bushings also, as those have also probably turned to mush or are no longer there. From what I have read on the Forum a condenser moving around in its bracket will rub a hole in the aluminum of the condenser and you will have to replace it and have the system recharged. The condenser is just in front of the radiator so while you are in there it makes sense to do both.
