Totally new to the X300
Good afternoon!
I've been looking for an XJ6 (X300) for some time, finally seem to have found a lovely example. A '96 4.0 Sovereign, with just about 80'000km (50'000 miles) on it, in a gorgeous deep blue colour on a tan interior.
Anyway, while the car looks very promising, I've got a problem with the bright orange turn indicators up front as well as the repeaters on the side. Are there any clear replacements? I've been looking online but haven't found anything just yet.
Thank you very much in advance, I appreciate any pointers!

I've never been a fan of the giant rectangular orange indicators either. Nor have I ever seen aftermarket replacements. I would like to see indicators with the same treatment as the rears, with smoked lenses over amber bulbs.
Since my cars are red, the orange doesn't contrast much and I can live with it (although you could say there is a color "clash" there).
It is more noticeable on the beautiful blue Sovereign, but if that's your biggest gripe, you must buy that car! Wow.
Don't forget to post up in the New Member's section once you get her home. A proper and warm welcome awaits.

You can replace the repeaters with (Growler or Leaper, I don't remember which it is) from the X308 range - an unlighted emblem.
I seem to have some vague recollection of the posts of which Al speaks, but there have been so many S-Type clear and smoke lens posts and X308 and XK as well...that I couldn't swear I saw them about the X300.....

Very nice X300-like the blue.
You can smoke the repeater lamp lenses and use a high intensity LED bulb so they will be seen better. I agree the orange does stand out against that blue but my guess is you would get use to that more over time.
I do think a light smoke over the lense would help this contrast and something that is very easy to do as they sell the spray at most auto supply stores and can be taken off if you decide you do not care for it.

A search for threads titled "lenses" returned the following threads that might help provide some more info on the topic of converting the indicator light lenses:
