upper radiator hose popped
was on the way to work one day and believe it or not, as i pulled in the upper radiator hose just popped like a cherry. Here is what it looks like. Also went ahead and replaced the lower radiator hose, funniest looking thing i have ever seen. But hey it works.
One more thing, does anybody else have a bucking or a kicking in the transmission when the car shifts from 3rd to 4th gear???? if you have any info on that please respond back with the same issue and some solutions to fix it.

Old age.
Better replace the hose from the back of the water pipe to the water rail, that will ruin your day big time if it pops.
Trans issues are usually old fluid. My 3.2, non electric trans, did it when first in the fleet, but 6 fluid drop and refills later, and using Synthetic fluid, even the convertor lock up at 80kph is barely detectable. Simple to drop and refill via the dipstick tube, pan stays in place.

I`m not so familiar with Jaguars yet, but when working with bmw`s, the radiator hoses mostly rupture only when it`s excess pressure in the cooling system. They may be old, for example, on my `84. bmw E28, all the hoses were original ones and they were in good shape. If I were you, I would check the pressure in your engine`s cooling system, when all the pipes are replaced. Excess pressure my be a sign of a faulty headgasket.
