Default Is this valve cover odd,

So my 95 x300 is dated 11/94. I have noticed that my valve cover does not say 3.2 or 4.0 liter like all other examples I've seen. Also the heat shield is chrome.
Just courius any chance this is not original. The car was parked for almost ten years and had only 109k on it when I bought it, absolutely everything else is original down to the Pirelli spare

If you go to ebay and search XJ6 coil cover you'll see some with 4.0 liter and some with out. Also I think the heat shield is "polished" as opposed to chrome ( but then again I could be wrong). I've seen some that way from time to time.

Smile Valve cover

Hi. I to have a 95 VDP and my cover is the same as yours, and it is not a replacement. The guard is chrome plated as well. Good reason to keep it polished. Now my car is a Canadian version if that could make a difference ?
Good luck

It's odd in that the paint isn't bubbled and flaking off....otherwise, no.

Thanks for the help guys, it's reassuring. The paint may be due to being parked so long
