Default water temperature gauge acting funny

Hello, I have also discovered my water temperature gauge takes a very long time for it to get near the warm side and some times it hangs out around the 1/4 area. I replaced my thermostat when I did my water pump. Could it be the sensor going bad or the gauge on the cluster? No codes active on the car.

The sensor has been suggested as a fault in several recent threads. Of course, it's also possible that the new thermostat is bad. Is it the required 88 deg C type?

I forgot I just went to the Jaguar dealer and asked for the original thermostat. I guess I'll be looking for a new sensor soon. Is there a resistance chart according to temperature of the water?

Default Temp Sender and funky temp gauge

Hi
I had this problem and popped out the Thermostat and discovered it was distorted and jammed ...... I popped in a new thermostat 192 F and corrected the problem. The Temp Gauge works fine now. I have noted reading here that the temp sender might be faulty ... perhaps but check the thermostat first..

I got a new thermostat and it did not fix it.

I'm going to order the two sensors on the thermostat housing.

I believe one has to wires and the other has one.

Ill let you know.
