What is this hose, left side rear inside shock mount?

Question What is this hose, left side rear inside shock mount?

Please see the attached photo.

While replacing my rear shocks (BTW, what a PITA ) .... I was cleaning up around the upper spring pan mount and noticed the hose pictured below up inside the mount.

Does anyone know:

1) What this hose is?
2) Is it supposed to be lashed up there and not connected to anything?


Before I button it all back up, I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing the need to reconnect this hose to something.

Probably the fuel scupper water drain.

Pour some water around the fuel filler cap and see if it drains from that tube.

Yes, it's a drain hose, either from the fuel filler or the channel drains. Mine is just sitting there also, and congrats on the shock replacement!

Thanks! ...but don't congratulate me yet

I started on the project late yesterday, and having never done this before on this car it took me all afternoon to get the LH spring/shock out. By that time and after getting dinner, I was starting to lose the light.

Upon getting it out, it was clear that the lower bushing was well on its way to falling apart, and the upper foam bushing was completely disintegrated. It was metal on metal up there.

So good timing on this answer, as I'll be installing the new LH shock in about an hour.

I'm hopeful that the RH will go more quickly now that I will have figured out most of the gotchas/uncertainties on the LH.

The hose you have pictured comes from the vapor control system. Sent me into a panic as well after I replaced my rear shocks.Must be some sort of breather.Good luck with the shocks. The right side took me 5 hours with some breathers and the left side only took 90 minutes.

Yeah, I was able to get the RH side out in about 90 minutes too after having learned how on the LH side first which took hours. Getting it back in still took a few hours though, but I was taking it easy.
