The painted silver exhaust manifold heat shield on my 97 XJR has a bit of rust and a small dent, and I noticed a nice looking chrome/polished version XJ for sale.

I know the 95 XJR also had the bright (polished or chromed?) shield versus the painted version in 96-97.

I was wondering if any of the AJ6/AJ16 shields can fit any of the model years, or if there are some that are not interchangeable?

The aj6 heat shield does "just about" fit, bolt holes line up nearly - you do need to fettle it a bit especially at the rear of the shield to get it fit over the rear manifold.
