Default what's the best polish?

The paintwork on my Ice Blue X300 Sport is in great condition but I really want to find the best polish and/or wax to get a deep mirror shine. I've been using Auto Glym's Extra Gloss Protection (easy to use, good shine) but haven't yet tried their "Ultra Deep Shine". I've also read about "Chemical Guys 50/50 Paste", but these products are pretty costly, so before trying them I'd love to hear what other Jag owners are using. Also, I don't know what type of paint is on these cars (eg. Cellulose, Acrylic etc. ???) and I believe that not all types of polish suit all paint types.

I'm not pretending my car is Concours, far from it, but hopefully like all proud Jag owners I want it looking its best. Any comments will be gratefully received!

Cheers,
Tony.

Another "how long is a piece of string" type of thread. Fun will be had.

I have tried all sorts over my many years, and Autoglym was one of them.

I only polish by hand, NEVER EVER a machine, my cars, my choice, and retirement offers plenty of time.

I now use Meguairs, and as mine is that Brooklands Green, and is NONE metallic I have gone over the whole car with their Ultimate Compound, and then followed with the Techwax2 (I think that is its name, its raining and I am NOT going out in the shed to look right now, maybe tomorrow??).

Anyway, I like the polish coz it does NOT dry with that dumb white powdery stuff that sticks to all the gaskets and seals, and at my age it is so easy to use, and polish off. Last longer than others I have used, hands down.

Wife also uses the same products on her Sebring Red XJ-S.

Just in case, NO affiliation, or even freebies, from any supplier, EVER.

I'm a firm believer in Autoglym's Super Resin Polish, it lasts a long time after applying and it's easy to apply and buff by hand. The Ultra deep shine is best on dark/black colours, but a bit harder to buff off, and creates more dust than the SRP. It also sits in minor scratches and highlights them. SRP on the other hand hides them.

The SRP has a new formula that I've not tried, but it'll not be far off what the old one was.

I'm about to invest in the Autoglym HD Wax, I'll let you know how that goes over the top of the SRP.

I like Zaino. The initial cleaning and application is a chore, but after that it's smooth sailing.
