Will X308 CD changer function with X300 radio?
I realize that the cable and connections from the X300 radio to the X300 CD changer is the old Alpine M-Bus, and the newer X308 CD changer uses the Alpine Ai-Net connector.
But I have a Bluetooth project which may try to use an Alpine KCA-801B to inject an aux signal into the path between the radio and CD changer, but the Alpine KCA-801B uses Ai-Net connections.
No big deal.... I can use a whole bunch of cable/connector converters from M-Bus to Ai-Net, and still will need some, but to simplify the install the use of an Ai-Net connected CD changer would be best.
So I noticed that the X308 CD changer uses Ai-Net, and wondered if it was functionally compatible with the X300 radio, again noting I'll need a cable converter from M-Bus to Ai-Net.
Anyone every try an X308 CD changer with the X300 radio?

The following may indirectly answer my question. Unless the X308 CD changer is "dual bus" and can support switching between M-Bus and Ai-Net, it likely wouldn't work.
ALP/Ai-F Alpine Dual Bus Changer to M-BUS Radio installation cable :: CD Changers :: Car Stereos and components
Purchase this cable to connect Alpine DUAL Bus CD Changer to Alpine M-BUS Radio.
As you may already know, Alpine M-BUS (older) is very slow compared to the new Ai-NET BUS and is one reason M-BUS Radios are not able to control Ai-NE CD Changers, however Alpine did make some CD Changer capable of working in Ai-NET and M-BUS Applications, namely Dual Bus Changers. These changers have an Ai-Net connector which the ALP/Ai-F converts to 8-pin DIN. Alpine CHA-S634, CHA-S614, CHA-S607, CHA-S604, VPA-S001 are DUAL BUS and the ALP/Ai-F allows them to connect to an M-BUS Radio (e.g. CDM-9801) or factory Alpine derived radios in older Honda, BMW, Volvo etc. (CD Changer adapter required).
This cable is approximately 6-inches long and has a Male Ai-NET plug and Female 8-PIN DIN
Successful Application Example:
1. You have an Alpine M-BUS headunit (e.g. CDM-9801) and a CHA-S634 Dual bus changer. Purchase the ALP/Ai-F to connect the CHA-S634 to the CDM-9801 M-BUS Changer controlling radio. Note that the M-BUS cable (Sold separately) is also required and switch inside the Changer door must be set to position 2 (See detail images).
2. To connect the CHA-S634 Changer to a BMW OEM Radio: Purchase the ABMW35v2 (BMW-Alpine CD Changer adapter) and the ALP/Ai-F. Note that the M-BUS cable (Sold separately) is also required and switch inside the Changer door must be set to position 2 (See detail images).
Will NOT work in the following examples:
1. To connect Alpine M-BUS headunit (e.g. CDM-9801) to a CHA-S624 (Ai-NET) CD Changer.
2. To connect Alpine Ai-NET headunit (e.g. CDA-7893) to a CHM-S630 (M-BUS) CD Changer.
3. To connect a BMW (or any Alpine OEM) Radio to a CHA-S624 (Ai-NET) CD Changer.
1. Alpine CHA-S1214, CHA-S1204, CHA-S605, MDA-5051, CHA-S624 are *NOT* DUAL-BUS Changers and therefore not compatible.
2. Not a protocol converter (only works on DUAL BUS Changers).
