X300 Rear Axle Universal Joints

Just wondering if any one has had trouble with the universal joints in the rear drive assembly.

Picked up a 96 VPD that the drivers, outboard joint had failed. Tire moved nearly 2 inches if you pushed on it while in the air. Found it easier to pickup a used half-shaft and swap it out rather than replace u-joints. Didn't mess with wheel bearing either as all seemed tight.
