Hi all! In my jaguar is the problem with automatic transmission. My model X300 xj6 4.0 Long, VIN-SAJHX1748SC731551.
The problem is that after I run the engine, includ DRIVE mode and go to places - for 2300-2900 tachometer is a jerk and kick and displayed emergency light Transmission in the upper left corner of the dashboard.

Errors engine no. Transmission dismantled and dismantled for inspection - inside all was well. But for warranty, I perfectly washed and replaced all seals and gaskets new set of disks. Substituted oil and oil filter. The problem persists. Check all wire connection and sensors. Everything is OK.

in case of a ZF 5HP24 tranny, you MUST also change the "F" piston during overhaul.

I case of another tranny, this sounds as partly clogged oil ducts, poor valve settings and that sort of thing.

I had a similar problem when I first got my car, it was northing to do with the transmission, it was the idle control valve. I had it cleaned and tested, that was 5 years ago and I have had no issues since with the transmission light and erratic fast idle. It is now 80,000 KM later.

Did your car sit without use for a long time?
