No, I don't think that its a connection problem.
Most likely, one of the six drawers has got jammed.
Then you will need to remove the cd changer, open it carefully and disassemble half the changer. I've done this job before. One of your biggest problems will be a tiny little spring in the rear - don't worry about this spring, the changer will work even without this part. Btw: the connection plug is behind the trunk carpet (if the changer is fitted below the rear window = my <1997).
