1996 xj6 x300, driving along, car stumbles and goes into limp home mode, transmission fault light comes on, get home, shut it off, restarts right away, no issues, no lights.
Next day, driving and car cuts out, no fault lights, but some sort of alert sound goes off, shut car off, restart, no issues, no warning lights.
I ran the ids scan and here are the codes.....ABS C1095, Engine control module P1138, P1315, transmission control module P0727, instrument pack P00EE. Looked up the codes, there were a few solutions wondering if anyone here has ever seen this. I did a screenshot of codes....
When it first started acting up, there was very little power and the transmission would not downshit, when I got home and shut it off, it restarted right away, ran fine, no code lights....
The speed sensor inside the transmission cross talks with the engine ECU by way of the transmission ECU as the Eng / Trans danse together
The electrical connector on the car's left transmission body can get corrupted and cleaned , the fault usually acures at very low speed coming out of park from reading others
The connector does not remove like a common connector and was referred to as a Daushe connector hense German manufacture ( transmission package in this case )
To remove connector , no jacking required , the barrel must first be moved aft about 1 / 8 inch and only then the top of the connector roteted about 1/ 2 turn top to car's outboard ( counterclocwise as looing from connectors rear )
Pic coming someone made that says 1000 words ,notice the tie wrap gripping the barrel to turn off , no rome for channel locks

Transmission codes are a red herring here, it goes into limp mode because you're driving and the car cuts off for a split second and there's a problem with ignition possibly and the car will always immediately go into limp mode and you'll get the transmission light, as soon as you restart and the car runs fine it will clear the transmission light so you'll need to find out why its cutting off. Obvious first thing is crankshaft position sensor, if all the dash lights flash or the RPMs go weirdly up and down could also be a coil.
Thanks for the info, I saw in the transmission codes section regarding the light coming on, it says if the engine speed drops below 300rpm, while in other than park or neutral, the transmission light will come on, it will clear when restarted.....just like you mentioned....
