ok, I checked the shifter's P and N function with regards to cranking. I did the same routine as before wherein I supplied a ground signal to the BPM's check engine light input and the shifter in P or N. I was able to crank the vehicle. Now I shifted it into R and it did not crank. So this rules out any malfunction of the shift gate.

The "Federal" Spec cars do not have the immobilizer system used in the ROW cars. I assume razirafi has a ROW version, so I think the "coded signal" that the SCLM sends to the ECM might very well be a concern. I know that on Federal (US) cars , the ECM swaps and goes. The "program" is held in removable PROMS, and no field programming is possible. So, to switch programs, you remove the old PROMS and carry them to the new ECM.

sorry razirafi. I was hoping for you. I think the member "xjrengineer" wrote the programming for some of those boxes. If they wind up not being "plug n play". He may hopefully be busy making timing advance brackets.

yes, this vehicle that I am working on is a ROW version and the immo is what I am most concerned about. The ECU in this vehicle looks like it has two ROMs, one encased in blue and one in green. If need be, I can easily remove these and swap it over to another ECU that we have already placed on order. As I have an EEPROM programmer, I may also be able to burn the .bin file into a new EEPROM if I can get a hold of these bins.
