Smile X300 Ignition Switch trouble

I am still having trouble turning on my ignition switch in my X300. The problem is with the locking mechanism that locks the steering wheel when the key is removed. It is very difficult sometimes to turn the key to positin one and get the lock to disengage. I think I need two TSBs to help solve this problem. The TSBs are 10-10 and 10-12 for the X300 or any others that anyone thinks might be of help.

Thanks guys for the help.

Here are the TSBs as promised.
The upper column is NOT addressed in JTIS.

Doesn't help. Not the problem.

Thanks Bob. You've been a big help and I will keep you posted. I'm going to try to see if I can get some lubricant in that lock area after I remove the key barrel before I do anything else.

Bob, I have another thought I'd like to run by you. For some time I have had a clunking sound it the steering column area from time to time. It has essentially stopped doing that recently. Could that have been a solenoid that is used to disengage the column lock? And could it have stopped working entirely now, which is why the clunking noise has stopped? Looking at the lock mechanism after removing the lower cowel there appears to be a solenoid attached to that part. Does this make sense?

Just read a post by Grant Fransis back in Feb that described the same clunking noise.
