Can it be done? Installation of X308 (98-03) sealt belt retractor and receptacle pair into a 95-97 X300? I know the X308 has the airbag thing attached to it. Is there a workaround?

 

I don't think so.

The X308 seat belt is different and the design of the B post internally is different between the two models.

I rebuilt my X300 in to a X308 body shell and I had to get X308 seat belts as the X300 belts would not fit (I can't remember the specifics).

So I would assume it's the same the other way around.

The seats are structurally the same so will bolt straight in. However, the electrics are very different.

I used a set of XJ8 seats but I removed the leather and foam from them and fitted that to the X300 seat frames and electrics. A bit of modding is required but it's very doable.

Additionally the seat belt warning wring is different (Normally Open v Normally closed) and will need to be modified or disabled.
