Default X330 Rear Light Upgrade

This can also be X300 obviously, Ive bought a set of X308 rear lights there brighter and more modern looking.

To do the job it take about 15mins including testing

10mm spanner and some paint cleaner and some cloths

I have one question before i start my post should there be anything covering the rear lights in the boot, to me it looks unfinnished

Here you can also the 3 10mm nuts holding the light unit on

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the upgrade because you seem to have swapped them out with the R model lights that don't have the chrome surround.

While the purist in me says one shouldn't 'downspec' a Sovereign to chromeless tail lamps, I think it looks far better without the chrome. The tail lamps seem to blend into the rear quarter panel, like they were moulded together, rather than looking like an after-thought.

I've got black plastic covers inside the boot on '95 VDP

I see your points of veiw guys no chrome - but if I see a pair of cheap 308 with the chrome I may buy them and then sell these on..

Personally I believe it looks better than it was. With tail pipes and the lights done, both of which were cheap upgrades it doesn look better to the eye. Just that back bumper to sort soon.

As for purist Im not really purist with "modern" cars even though the x330 is on the cusp of a classic it being correct with everything doesnt worry me as much as it does with say my E-Type and 420G...

The X308 white portion of the tail lights does look much better on lighter color X300's, especially the white ones. Otherwise it gives them a slightly dirty appearance IMHO.
