XJ6 96 Trunk not opening, please help...
hello everyone, I own a 1996 XJ6/X300 and I was messing around with a wire in the trunk cause it was loose a few days ago, it was a purple wire that was ripped off that connects to the right side lisence plate lamp. Does anyone know if that is the wire thats causing the trunk not to open? Because I cannot open it with remote, or the trunk button on dash, but with the key it opens fine, If anyone can please help me I would gladly appriciate it, thank you.
That wire shows as purple with a white stripe on the schematic, and its sole purpose is to light the plate lamp. The trunk lock actuator wires are yellow/orange stripe and black. There is a relay involved, which I assume is in the group to the rear of the battery.
hello thanks for the responce, after looking again in my trunk I realized that iot wasent the purple wire that snapped it was a black wire, but it wasstill conntected to the lamp part, is that the wire for the trunk?
hi, got the lamp wire working, but I checked for possible issues with the trunk and nothing, checked the relays wires and fuses and nothing! I did notice ith the voltage reader I wasent getting anything coming from the orange/yellow wire connected from the actualator to the relay, anyone know anything? thanks!
