Hi all I am trying to sell a 1997 XJR and a guy came to take it for a drive this morning when he returned he felt that on the motorways/Hwys the engine was quiet but he could when stopped with the hood up and engine idling hear what he thought was the blower.

I have to be honest not thought much about it Blowers make some noise but how much I'm starting to wonder. Are these XJR's nosier than an XJ6?

They knock alittle idling as theres no force exerted to keep the rotors in contact on the drive side. So they rattle at idle, this is normal....to a point! you have to know normal and not normal. The front drives have a plastic/nylon cog and they do wear but are rebuildable. You can google eaton blower drive rebuild for pics and more info
