Default XJR cat back exhaust

Hi there, I need to replace the exhaust from cat back on my 1996 XJR. I cannot find an XJR specific exhaust. Is it the same as the regular X300 4.0 one?

I fancied a blueflame stainless exhaust, but they seem to think the XJR part is different from the 4.0 one that they supply.

Could anyone shed some light? I really like the idea of a stainless replacement.

Regards,

John

The basic fit/configuration is the same.

XJR/6s have 3-pass rear mufflers (versus 2-pass for other models) and the connection to the head pipe may be a bell connection or a slip-fit connection.....versus the standard car which were all slip fit....er...um....I think.

Ok, so do you think there is an advantage to the XJR system? Or should I just buy a 4.0 blueflame system and make it fit? There doesn't seem to be any aftermarket XJR/6 systems available, or even pattern parts for that matter!

No advantage to the XJR/6 system. It's more restrictive than the standard exhaust. I'd go with the Blueflame. It should fit perfectly except the possible headpipe issue....which should be hard for a muffler shop to work around
