Default XJR and mad about it.

Hi X300 lovers,

my Daimler Six is now for sale, because:

I've just bought myself an X306 XJR, 1996, near mint and very happy with it!
Thought I'd let you know.

Good choice!
enjoy..

did it come with a chromed grille as new, or has it been changed ?
I thought all the XJR6 cars had colour-coded grille surrounds.

there is a low mileage XJR6 for sale in NZ , they are claiming 25,000 km since new.. Jaguar XJR Supercharged 25000 K/MS 1995 | Trade Me

Nope, some XJR colors in some markets came with chrome grille surrounds and trunk finishers versus painted. I guess Jaguar just thought the color and chrome worked for those combos? Who knows.

I don't know which colors for sure, but I do know the 1997 Titanium did like mine. Every Titanium colored US XJR I've seen is chrome finished.

And, Labcoat, happy as a lark with it!
113K km's, Andy bracket will go from the Daimler to the XJR, but I see you changed to a five speed gearbox. Autobox? The Merc one from the X308 XJR?

To be that low KM it's probably a Japanese import?

And on this example, it's interesting that it has body colored grille surround, but the trunk finisher is chrome. So it's a hybrid apparently

Nice car, as an aside, per the photos something is odd with the left hand rear door speakers... and not just the tweeters that pop out of the armrest on all of ours.

keep in mind it's a BIN or "Make offer" sale so the only thing you'll see is someone else buying it, it's not a "for bid" auction.

Looks a good one, Snowball.

I come from a series background, own an XJC and a series III.
Hence my love for sixes and twelves.
Went for a Daimler Six some time ago, that's your fully loaded (option-wise) VDP.
1995 4.0 straight six is a great machine. 249 horse.
Got hooked on the power and went for the XJR, love it.

It has no options whatsoever (saves weight!), but the comparative ease with which this machine moves and the added sound of the supercharger goes right up my spine whenever I push the accelerator. Love it to bits.

I say: go for it!
