XJR steering rack compatibility

Hello All,

I have a 1997 XJR,

Im afraid the steering rack is far too gone to rebuild so Im looking into a used
replacement.

Does anyone know if a rack from a X350 1998-2003 model will fit?

No such animal; 98-03 is X308. Don't know but it would be a greater chance than X358....358 more likely to share parts with an S Type

Looks like they mount differently, and there are transducers on the rack for determining steering angle to work with traction control those are different between X300 and X308.

A steering rack from XJ40 would come closer to fitting than anything else. The X300 is kind of a cross between the XJ40 and X308. Some things are XJ40 and some are X308.
