Default ‘03 X308 VDP rear seat removal

I’ve read all the threads I can find on seat removal but none seem to address my VDP. I do not have hatches/cutouts in the rear under seat area I can remove to reach fastening screws/bolts for the bottom cushion. I have solid trim pieces across each half. About a third of the way inboard on either one is a small black button which I take to be a fastener of some sort.

So ... has anyone encountered a similar setup for getting the back seats out/moved? Any advice?

My aim is to get the lower seat portion out and the seat back sufficiently released to thread a satellite radio antenna through the carpet behind the rear AC outlet, under the seat and up behind the seat back so I can have the antenna on the back deck. I can then run the antenna cable and the power from the rear cigar lighter outlet under the left side of the console to have the antenna and power emerge where I can plug them into the small SirriusXM Onyx head unit. I think I’ll attach it with releasable adhesive on the underside trim to the right of the steering wheel adjacent to the transmission tunnel.

Thanks.

All 308s should have the trim panels that pop out to get to the torx screws

take a picture of your setup if you can

I have a US VDP, and removed the seats several times (before changing them altogether to Captains seats).
It is all exactly the same on the whole range of cars / years.

To me, it sounds like either you misjudge the fixing (they are plastic fasteners which need to be turned 90 degrees for release), you are just not pulling hard enough (from experience on other x308's, some panels are loose, others really need a good pull, it's a bit hard to get a good grip on them to do that), or someone adjusted something really really weird.

Once the bottom cushions are out, its relative easy for the rest.
Just be careful with the plastics (as always on these cars).

Here you go. A single panel with a non-turning fastener in the middle. No pop out panel on either side on this '03 VDP. I think I'm going to have to get a trim tool to safely pop these out given that the plastic is a mere 18.5 years old from manufacturing date. From the outside, it looks like one of those "christmas tree" door panel fasteners I had on my xj40. ... I hope you can see the photos. I can't when I look at the thread, but I can when I open the posting to "edit" it.

Just tried again. Finally figured out, I think, how to get them from Ipad photos into the forum. I’m not real tech savvy.

As above, those are the same panels as on every other car, and cover the fuse boxes as well as the seat bolts.
Using a trim remover on the little plug is a good idea, and then I find the best way to remove the cover is to get a good grip on the top portion near the door, rather than trying from the middle, and pull towards the front of the car.

The cover is a very sturdy piece of plastic, so don't be too worried about breaking it, and it will flex a bit as you're pulling it

Looks like they switched to a clip, older cars have a quarter turn fastener. Use a trim remover to pull it out.

Thanks to both you and xalty. I was under the impression, and had a vague memory of seeing on one of my previous cars, a smaller hatch-like panel in the undersea area that pulled out by hand to provide access...or may even have seen a photo of the same on here. anyway, off to the auto parts store to find a trim tool as stuff this old gets brittle.
