I first thought there was no compression as I had fuel pressure, turns out that wasn’t fuel pressure 😂 when I tested it before it came flying out, that’s when I knew the pump was working, brakes are pretty rough with the rust, I actually got a stalled message on the dash which I’ve never even heard of when I first reved the car after about 5 minutes of it ticking over

Ok got it now . Oil should burn off after a while at worse maybe foul the plugs a little. After sitting a while the ticking is normal until oil gets to everything again...
how is it running now?

Took it for a little run, better at higher gears but when ideal it’s lumpy, as in when it’s rocking the car lumpy, hopefully I’ve not buggered the throttle body

Did you touch anything to do with the throttle?
I had the same issue with my car after changing the intake seals, after checking everything over and over I found a vacuum line had spilt just after the Tee as it went under the throttle body... I patched and it ran better but didn't even out for hours. Finally did on its own, Maybe its a relearn thing....

I’ve never touched it, after I got back I changed the air filter, only time I’ve been near it, well it’s been exposed when I had to take he plastic pipe off to get to the coils etc

Before making yourself nutz over it let her idle for a while give her a throttle now and then see what happens...
You can look around and make sure everything is still in place.

not sure what else to tell you . If you have a check engine light on see what codes you have ? If all else fails disconnect the battery negative and short / touch it to the positive for 10,15 seconds with the key on... turn the key to the on position after disconnecting the battery negative. Then off before you reconnect it...
Who knows, Damn Electronics!

So I forgot to fully tighten the fuel filter 🙄 the jaguar jack has now also been destroyed and the jack point ruined, trolley jack to the rescue, managed to get it tightened but made no difference, I’ll add a few videos, bit of a knocking noise, had one before but seems worse now, not sure if it’s related, thoughts anyone?

I started this post because I didn't trust the jack points...
wouldn't worry about that now. That jack tube can be easily repaired / replaced .
To me it sounds like an exhaust leak or the way it comes across the video. And you have No Codes No engine light?
I had a problem with my Knock sensor and that didn't throw a code . There easy enough to check and test with a meter...

I was thinking exhaust but not sure why it would go all of a sudden, might have another post on the forums, yes jacking points aren’t the best and i was scared to use anywhere else! Knock sensor was done last year so I’d be surprised if it was that, I had restricted performance intermittently when the knock sensor went, and no lights on.

My bad knock sensor made my car like run and sound yours.. Loud and rough running. Like I said it's easy to test with a meter. .. no tools involved. Ok a meter is a tool. ..

should read around 2k

Maybe someone else can chime in that knows more, better. . I can only share what I have found.

Do you own a multi meter? Any one that reads ohms will work just fine set it to a low scale and test the knock sensor.

squeeze the Connector and pull straight up. Test those 2 pins. One on each side the thermostat housing.
if you don't have a meter maybe a mate has one you can borrow?

I wouldnt go crazy on them my 20+ years old 20.00$ craftsmen meter works as good as my 200.00$ Fluke meter...I have a small 10$ digital meter that works just as well for reading ohms,AC, and DC Voltage. .
