A set of small leads with alligator clips are also handy to have cheap enough.
Unless you find a meter with alligator clips

Hi HH...
Tell me about it!
See what happened to his jack point....That's what I was worried about.
If i didnt already bale17 rolls of hay move 3 mares with the colt, foals to 2 different pastures wash the crap off Mr Sir PoopsAlot you would of had to tell how to fix his car instead of me giving him my best Guesses!

No not really... I relied on you and CK. You 2 have much more experience with these cars...
If it weren't for you 2 the scrap yard would of had this car Even if I had to pay them to take it...... Still doesn't sound like a bad idea!

So took her for about a 20 mile run this morning and no real improvement but we now have an engine management light on so that’s a start, can anyone recommend a code reader?

I'm pretty sure there are a few post here on which one works best or very good for the jags.
I have an old innova 3100 and a Autel ms908.
both do ok at reading code and clearing them..
But not really great with the Jaguar or my 02 volvo. The Autel is way too expensive for use on older cars works great on my 02 and 08 Ford pickups,06 gmc envoy and a few other newer cars...

Look around on here I'm sure these guys/lads can help you out....
Sorry I couldn't be any help...

iCarsoft MB II seems to be the shiny new object, I've not used it. Be sure to specify Jaguar when looking it up. Previously the Bluetooth Elm 327 was hot along with the Torque app. I have that. Though getting it to link of late has been some what of a task.

For the moment, any national auto parts store will scan it for free so you at least know what your dealing with.

Hey CK...
yes it's been way too long. ..
between upkeep around here ,looking after Now 27 horses, plus sheep and goats and mini pony that thinks he's my dog... Something had to be put on the back burner...
The car starts and runs very smoothly, brakes may need to be beld again ,I feel the travel is a little too much... everything else on the car now does work. It's been washed, clay bar ,compound ,polished half waxed....
interior needs a good going over, carpet shampoo. Then get a few little bit I need.. weather is getting a little cooler I'll be back on again soon....
Other than that not much else going around here....
Glad to hear from you.

Jay

Hey Dangelous. .
How are you/family doing ?
Did you get your car all sorted out?
Running like a Champion now?

Not giving up on her just needed to get all my outside projects done while the weather is on my side....
The one thing I don't enjoy is wood work and I had to build bob his own little tiny house. ..
Ugh! Never again! 8x12 shed completely insulated with Windows and a linoleum floor, Ok the linoleum floor was more for me easier to sweep out his bedding.
I've take the car out just on my road I think and feels she runs and moves along pretty nicely. Didn't go over 60 mph. Just incase.
brakes may need to be checked again or maybe just need to be broken in , cut rotors and new pads... other than that just living the dream, daymare!

Stay safe

Jay

All is well thanks and the family are very well! Jags not bad, although the brakes now judder after sitting so long in lock down and pump change, and the exhaust still sounds blown but apart from that everything seems ok, coil pack change and oil change and she’s sounds pretty good 😂

Man, I thought you'd done snuck you out on us and completed all else without saying such. Glad to hear Mint Sauce is in good spirits...I'm sure he appreciates your efforts. Especially this winter when he adjusts the thermostat for comfort........you did put a thermostat in for him...right?

I added another song for ya in my sig...

Good to hear Dangelous.

Hey there HH.
Good to hear from you...
No thermostat for him ... the best I can do is give him some solar lights. He should be warm enough walls and floor are insulated plus the walls will be lined what the bales of straw and his hay on top of that... He didn't get sheared this year so that coat should help also..If his house wasn't so far from the large garage I would of ran a line to him for a floor heating pad... My thinking is with a layer of pine shavings and straw on top of that ... He should be fine , I hope...

That's my thinking....
But what do I know...

Straw will be 4ft high and the other 4ft will be his hay.
