Default '03 XJ8, amber-coded Engine Failsafe mode enabled, no problem codes... what the hell?

So I have an 03' Jaguar XJ8 with less than 80k miles on it. It has had a few problems in the past which I've fixed (thanks to your guy's help).

So after I have driven for about 15 minutes I am getting an amber coded Engine Flailsafe mode (The one that lets me drive, but wont let me rev over 3k, restricted performance etc). The strange thing is that it doesn't give me any error codes at all (Besides P1000). Anyone able to help?

I have Torque (and a bluetooth OBD-II adapter) and I used the "Test results". I have no idea how to use this feature but this is the result: Two things came up as "Not okay", you can see them in the screenshots I have provided here:

That is, TID: $0a CID:$11, and TID: $22 CID:$11. Again, these hex codes are meaningless to me, hopefully its more than greek to you guys.

Edit: In case it is relevant, I figured I would comment here on previous repairs I have done.

Man, hate to resort to bumping but if I gotta bring this into the dealership they are gonna squeeze me dry, I just know it.

it should throw a code, have you other means of extracting it/them?

Make sure you check for the code when the failsafe occurs. Also, it could be a transmission code, which you may not see with a generic OBDII reader.

The reader I have can read anything torque can (which I am under the impression is everything)

I have tested it both when it is in fail-safe mode and when it is not. It comes out of fail-safe when I turn off the car and leave it for a few seconds.

In either case, it only throws a P1000

There are manufacturer proprietary codes that you cannot read with a generic reader. Unless you have AutoEnginuity or Jaguar diagnostic equipment you have a generic reader.

****... well is there any way of me getting that without needing $600 worth of equipment?

I have a 2000 XK8 with 72K miles on it. About a month ago, started getting FAILSAFE ENGINE MODE warning. No CE or codes; engine runs great. Cleaned throttle body until it is the cleanest in the western world. 15 min of run and message appears. The tip off to what the problem was is a weird one; drivers side window loses position program. Tested the battery and it showed 12.3V. Replaced the battery and window holds program, no more failure messages, and auto wiper function which hadn't worked in three years is back. Car always started quickly, always ran fine. I have seen the solution to many electronic related problems given as "replace the battery" and never really trusted them. I am now a believer. My battery was the original, 13 yrs old.

Welp... I'll try it. If this works, I'll dance a hearty Jig.
