'03 XJ8, amber-color "Engine Failsafe" mode
This is a continuation of a previous thread I made (HERE), and being that it has been some time, and I have tried a whole lot of new things, I figured I would make a new thread and a cliffnotes version of the previous thread.
After driving for about 10 minutes I will get a amber-colored "Engine Failsafe" (AKA limp mode). Stranger still is that I get no OBD codes, only P1000 or P1111 (depending upon how recently I have reset codes.) Furthermore, clearing codes does not disable the Fail-safe mode, only turning it off for a few minutes does, and it will always resume after a few minutes.
The repair history of this car is that it has had its Throttle Body rebuilt and part-load breather replaced very recently. Since this problem began occurring I've tried:

- Replacing the battery with a brand new one
- Cleaning the throttle body very thoroughly
- Cleaning the air intake ductwork, and the MAF sensor.

At this point I think it might be good to throw in the towel and get someone with an enhanced code reader to read the codes. Maybe join the Jag club nearby, reach out to some other NY posters or pay the 1 hour minimum labor an indie should charge for reading it for you.
If you were near Atlanta, I would be happy to do so.
