1999xjr power steering pump removal instructions
Need to replace power steering pump. JTIS only has instructions on power steering bearing removal not power steering pump. Does anyone has intructions or link to instructions. thanks
You've to remove the pulley off the front first. Use the belt tension to undo the 3x m8 bolts.
Once the pulley is off, you can then remove the single long bolt m8x80mm, slide it out and remove the pump. Then disconnect the hoses and drain the fluid.
Install the hoses onto the new pump.
Bolt the pump to the bracket, then install the pulley and reconnect the accessory belt.
Sounds simple, 4 bolts, but it's a bit tight down there, maybe easier to go at it from underneath.
Hope this helps.

And, did you do the R&R??? The purpose of this forum is to help all comers find solutions to problems with their cars. If you don't post your results it doesn't do us much good.

Point is well taken: however, it is probably lost after ten years. Been nearly that long since DNAKirk added anything, and about four or so for Sean (although I think he loiters like lots of us who have moved to newer cars).
