Post 2000 Jaguar XJ-8L with rebuilt throttle body probelms

Hi,

I recently recieved my rebuilt throttle body from Auto ECU and I put it into the car and im getting multiple errors that were not there before, originally there was only the P0507 error code. Now I have a Gearbox Fault as well as Failsafe engine mode. Of cosure the check engine light is on as well. The car is idleing very oddy its high and some times go up and down over and over again! I am really freaking out any help would be much appreciated!!!!!!

Hi
Have you tried calling Auto ECU for help with your issue? They have a lifetime warranty on their throttle body rebuild service.

I started a new thread yesterday on Throttle Body prices. Auto ECU is also known as Automotive Scientfic Inc (ASI) Rogersville,Tn. They have their throttle body rebuild service listed on EBAY at a very reasonable price and lifetime warranty.

But, that was before the throttle body and the new symptoms. Get the code read- thats what they are there for.

I would check the TB plugs and verify they are clean and tightly connected. http://jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepa...J27%201999.pdf

In addition to Gus' suggestions, I would measure the excitation voltages at both pedal position circuits along with the sense feedback. The excitation voltage should be 5 volts. You can measure the feedback for each sensor with an enhanced scanner- It might be time o get it scanned. The pedal sensor is the one on the left side of the TB.
