Hey guys. I just bought this car a couple of weeks ago, it runs impeccable but there are some minor issues I'd like some help with. The driver window operates only sometimes. You can sit and hold the button down but it wont budge some days, other days it moves just fine. Also, my sunroof keeps closing about ten seconds after I open it. Is this normal? Finally, I have the lock for the trunk missing, is it hard to install yourself and how much does it cost?

The software install instructions in post# 1 pertain to window7 64 bit operating system.

I have a 98 xj8 and had the same problem with the window and sunroof

It was a bad door control module

At first my mechanic checked and cleaned the connections on the module- that worked for a week or two then it failed.

I bought a used drivers door module off of eBay for a reasonable price and had it installed - works great since

 

Mr. Lombardi. Thank you so much. I use a Windows 7 64 bit so Ill follow those directions posted. As for obriendob, I was wondering, what does the door control module have to do with the sunroof? Isnt the module the panel on the drivers door?
