I'm only getting deep bass coming from 2 rear speakers and nothing from the two front lower door panel speakers. The dash speakers and door tweeters are fine. Can this be an amplifier problem? The system is oem alpine on my 2000 xk8 convertible. Is there more than 2 rear speakers that sound like twin sub woofers that only produce bass? Appreciate your comments and help. Have gotten misled by jag dealer service regarding sound system.

 

If you have the better of the two systems, you also have a dual voice coil 6x9 subwoofer in your rear parcel tray - take a look up there and see if you see it... if there, you have the premium system, and that's where you're hearing the bass coming from - do you have a sub level control after bass, treble, balance and fade on your head unit? Also a way to tell if premium or not.

I had the system rechecked by Cartronics and the Amplifier is working right and the two door speakers where dead. I had them replaced along with upgraded tweeters and it is fantastic. The Jag dealer spent over 3 hours and cost me $192 to get complete misinformation. The service manager wrote out their diagnose to be a bad Amplifier with six blown speakers. Their estimate was $2,400. Real Ripoff. Plan to go back and show them the paid bill and diagnostic print out from Cartronics. I expect to have them give me a 192 buck refund. I'll keep you posted.
