Default 2001 VDP Purchase Questions

I'm looking at an '01 VDP with 67K miles on it. It has had it's 60K service, but I am wondering what the 70K service entails since it's right around the corner. Any cost included would be awesome also.

I assume it will also need the belt feed tensioner replaced since it has a chirping sound when the AC is on.

If the car is no more than $10 K and you budget $1500 or so for preventive maintenance on day two, pass. Look for '02 or newer.

Thanks for your input Jagtech. I went ahead and made the leap with this '01. Even with the AC chirping (hardly noticeable), and missing chrome radiator vane, the price was great. I really stole the car. I called my buddies at my old dealership for the history on the car which checked out beautifully also.

My biggest concerns were the timing tensioners (VIN was past the plastic tensioner production line), and the infamous Jag brake squeal (this one's quiet as can be).

The paint and interior are absolutely perfect (Antracite/Cashmere), but I do have a few touch up things to do to her to make her perfect. Aside from the fore mentioned items, the reverse park assist occassionaly beeps with nothing around. Any suggestions on that would be great also.

Again, many thanks and wish me luck.

My 2001 VDP has the occasional false reverse beep when the terrain is uneven and the sensor picks up the road surface or grass vs. and actual obstacle. It is sensitive enough to pick up blowing leaves and occasional rain. In my experience too much warning is far better that too little.
