Default 2002 XJ8 with 145,000 miles: buy or pass?

Hello, I am new to this site and wanted some insight on a used 2002 XJ8 with 145,000 miles. I know that it has only had 2 previous owners with the last ownership for 11 years. Carfax seems to address a few minor service records such as fuel cap, seat belt,,, but no major repair. It seems like it has served well but the owner traded this one in for a new car. My main concerns are timing chain and tensioners around 150,000 miles. Would this model from 2002 have metal tensioners unlike problematic plastic ones from the previous years?? Any idea how much ($3,000??) and if it is worth looking at it? I have yet to test drive it so what should I pay attention to? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

I know people talk of 12/01 as being the start of metal tensioners .. but I know people past that date with plastic ...

With 145k --- the transmission can be a worry ... it all comes down to purchase price - condition and what you plan on doing with the car. Weekend car vs DD ... able to do your own work. Is this going to be your own car?

Default 2002 JXJ8

Hey guys, thank you for all your input. I have decided to go a different route and pass up on the car after finding another car, a Subaru. I was hoping to use the Jag primarily as a commuter car for the brutal winter coming up. Even with studded winter tires, RWD would still not outperform an AWD or FWD car. The Jag drove nicely but in the end, I decided to go with a proven car with reliability.
Cheers,
G~
