2002 XJ8 drivers side window control

XJ8 2002, 70K miles. Starts easy, runs good. New member, but not new to site, have read it for years
Apologize in advance for lengthy post but wanted to cover all my work to date.
Anyway, a power window problem. (Started about 2 months ago). The drivers door master switch does not work for any of the four windows. Each passenger window (3) works at its own window switch. Global open and close using key works all four windows. The outside door mirrors do however work.
Firstly I took drivers door panel off and cleaned both of the window control 26 pin connectors, switch and door connectors. It, drivers switch, would work - but then the next day would NOT!! Or, passenger windows would work but not drivers window. Did this multiple times. Always next day same problems. Now for last four days no windows work from drivers switch.
So besides cleaning both connectors, I have also tried -
Replaced 25A fuse location 15. Taken apart the drivers door switch (snaps apart at hooks) and it is the typical graphite button posts and gold pattern circuit board (can post pictures), cleaned all. Gently, slightly bent each switch 26 pins to improve connection to other connector. Took the door panel connector apart to see the pins/sockets and they look ok, but, have not checked pin continuity.
I have looked into circuit descriptions for associated fuses and relays.. Searched (tried to) forums. No joy. Is there something to reset? The switch can surely not directly control, switch the current to the window itself, can it? There must be a relay for each window to control the window motor, right? So, how and where is it/they? Also, for the door 26 pin connector, is there information on voltages at which pins? I have not tried a battery disconnect reset.
All ideas and suggestions very welcome, thanks.
BTW - user wrd0225 posted 5/24/19 with exact same problem. Thus far they have not replied with, or if, fix. A battery reset was suggested. Guess I could do that, no big deal - but I'd really like to know the cause of the problem.
