Is there a fuse or breaker for the drivers door windows control. The mirror adjustment control works. The individual window controls at each door work. The drivers door windows control don't work.

 

Can you hear the window motor clunk trying to move the glass? fuses are under rear seats if i recall it right and their position is outlined in drivers manual if you still have that books

 

When my drivers window would not work as well as the sunroof I did a hard rest with the battery cables. It restored my window function as well as my sunroof. Remove negative cable from battery and touch it to the connected positive post and hold for 10 to 20 seconds. It happened after I had unlocked the driver door with the key, not the remote.

I just did this for my 1999 XJ8L that had the same fault except that I did not want my trip mileage to go to zero so I removed the fuse in the left hand heelboard box for the Drver's Door Module.

Every few years this happens and I don't know the reason. I just pull the fuse, put it back and go on with my life.

I have EXACT same problem. 2002 XJ8
Pulling 25A fuse at slot 15 in panel fuse box is no joy. does not fix.
Have not tried battery reset.
I am also looking for a relay that controls each window motor. I do not believe that the window motor would be controlled directly from the door switch?
