2000 xj3.2 long wheel base .taken stereo out , cranks but will not start

 

Have you checked the CPS ...and/or the micro-switch for Park in the J-gate? A recent issue a member had, ..is the butterfly plate free in the TB? His was so varnished, it sealed itself shut overnight and wouldn't start until he broke it free. Also check your air filter (a dirty one will cause a no start) and the breather line from the cam cover to the intake tube.

When was the last time you did a tune up? If its been awhile, plugs, air filter and fuel filter wouldn't hurt. A gunked up fuel filter can cause a no start and make sure your battery is properly charged, voltages below 11v can cause a no start even though its rolling over fine.
