2002 XJR100 question
Hi guys ,
I crossed my fingers I may have found another one with 64 k miles for 11K . Though he has not done the 60 k service it seams like a good deal .
Does the 2002 XJR 100 have the plastic or metal tensioner ?
Thank you
Terry

depends on the engine serial number. Use the search function or Google and you will find the ENGINE serial number that initialized the metal run. (or wait, many here know and will weigh in).
Note: ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER, NOT VIN. One of the problems with cars built in late 01 (02 MY in US) is they may have engines that were built as early as late 00 (with plastic tensioners).

Every XJR 100 has the later morse 'silent' primaries, all metal tensioners and guides, in fact the only difference with the later AJ33? it's stroked with oil jets, everything else is the same.
Well , my luck , he sold it to someone else ! Second time I miss out on a good one . Now I have seen another 2003 XJR ( non 100) with 52k but the dealer wants $14.000 I think it's way too much ,don't you think ?
I sent an email so several of my LinkedIn connections Jaguar managers and put the word out .
