Default 2003 VDP - suspect doctored VIN #

Does anyone have a 2003 VDP and can supply a picture of the instrumental panel/radio? I have a 2003 VDP and the VIN # has a 3 as the 10th digit, which would indicate a 2003 model. The CarFax report is saying it is a 2003. However, the manual that's available from the Jaguar website is showing a totally different instrument cluster & radio. My 2003 VDP looks like a 2002 as far as the interior. It has the same radio as the 2002, etc. Although I hope I am wrong, I almost suspect somebody took a good VIN # and put it on my car. How else could this be explained? My mechanic is saying it is a 2002. I have contacted Jaguar, but in the mean time if somebody has the same car as me, if I could see a picture of the instrument cluster/radio that would be a great so I could compare with my car. The only other explaination would be that there were two different 2003 VDP made. My car was manufactured in 01/2002 and sold for the first time in July of 2002 and again the VIN is saying it is a 2003 model. Thank you.

How does your mechanic know it's an '02? As long as your car has the correct emissions label, VIN on the dash, manufacturerer's label on the door with corresponding paint and trim, and most importantly the correct VIN anti-theft bar-coded labels with the anti-forge background located on the body panels and transmission case, you should be ok.

Has a dealer looked at the engine number?

Your car was manufactured in Jan 2002......Hhmmm....Maybe Jaguar was trying to unload there inventory of 2002 dashes and hope no one noticed.

The first two are from an interior of an '03 VDP. The second two from an '02 VDP. Look the same to me.

The manuals listed under 2003 XJ on the Jaguar download site are really for the x350 cars, which were sold as model year 2004 cars in the US. There's nothing wrong with your car, the Jaguar web folks have just mislabeled the downloads.

There were no changes to the x308 dash arrangement between 1998 and 2003.

Default Confirmed it is a 2003

Jaguar USA checked the VIN and they confirmed it is a 2003. Not sure why they would be manufacturing the 2003 model already in January of 2002, but it is a 2003 model which looks the same as the 2002 model. It is confusing though the PDF download on their website is showing the 2004 model for the 2003 download. A vendor that sold used manuals on Ebay sent me the wrong manual b/c he got confused as well by the Jaguar website.
