I bought this car a couple of weeks ago. This week, the ASC not available, Trac not available warning came on and the car went into the limp mode. Cycled the ignition and it went away.

Checked the battery as it was suggested by some forum members and it is working fine.

This morning while driving on the freeway, The Trac and ASC warning came on again and the car went into failsafe mode. Pulled over, re cycled the ignition and all was fine for about 5 minutes when Check engine light also came on along with the ASC warning.

Drove fine for 15 minutes until I reached home. The check engine light is still on.

In one of the threads about the same issue, one member suggested to the OP that tail lights not working could have triggered the issue. Coincidentally my rear passenger side brake light has only worked intermittently for a week.

 

Took it to my mechanic so he could read the engine code. It's P0121 throttle positioning sensor. I know that these sensors are not available without buying the whole throttle body assembly $$$$...

Could it be something minor that is leaving that code?

Can't afford to spend mega bucks right now and need the car for work. Please help.
