I have a 2003 XJ8 that will be due for an oil change. Any suggestions as far as jack stands or ramps? Ive never done a Jaguar before. Any thing else I should be aware of or any helpful tips? Thanks

 

With a low catch pan I have changed mine with the car on the ground.

I took these photos this morning after I searched the internet for a good XJ8 DIY on changing the engine oil and oil filter. I found instructions on a thread on this forum, but I thought a couple of the photo might help.

Here is photo of the engine oil drain plug and oil filter located next to the passenger side front wheel (2001 XJ8) taken from under the car - the oil filter has red lettering on it (Bosch) you can see o and the s:



Here is top view photos - first one is the alternator and the oil filter taken from the top of the engine compartment near the middle of the valve (cam) cover - the oil filter is just below the alternator.



Second one shows part of the engine valve cover and the alternator (I have a flashlight shining on the alternator from below it).
