2003 XJR Broken Motor Mount?
I noticed a clunking noise today when I accelerated hard. It sounded like something in the rear end, maybe a U joint. Wrong, it is the left side motor mount. If I brake torque the car, the engine rises about 2" on the left hand side. How common is this problem? How difficult (hours) is it to change? I found replacements on line for $92 each, not bad for being hydraulic.

Well, I had both of my mounts bolts stretch, I'd suggest letting top and bottom nuts go, bottom one is through the front subframe. Ease the engine up with a trolley jack. Replace the offending mount and tighten up. It's a tricky one...
Since you cant recieve pm's heres your answer
because you have to drop the steering rack and raise the entire engine. Even then it is a pain to work the old 1 out and the new 1 in place. The passenger side is easy with alot of room and doesnt require dropping the steering rack
