Default 2006 4.2

i bought a 06 4.2 that i was going to put in my 01 but it looks like a whole lot of problems. any one put one in an older car? or should i get rid of it and start over. only gave 700 for eng and trans complete with ***.

Abbreviating "assembly" into 3 letters is not recommended for reasons of ambiguous meaning, lol...

There is very little over lap between the British Jaguar x308 ('97-'03) and the Ford Jaguar X350/X358 ('04-'09) to the point that you may as well use an engine from any vehicle of your choosing. The electronic sensors/interfaces would likely make your attempt excessively difficult.

assy* which makes me wonder what assembly the trans comes with?

I believe it's been done before but it's not easy.
