I just made it back from a vacation where I drove from Texas to Ohio to visit some old friends. The round trip was just over 2500 miles. I averaged 22.5 mpg over the whole trip. I was able to average 25.1 mpg on the Interstate Hwys where I could drive for hours and hours without having to stop.
The only minor setback was about 500 miles from getting home when my left front shock bushing disintegrated and every little bump made loud clunking noises and vibration. I stopped at a Dollar store and bought a cheap pair of flip flops to make some hill billy engineered bushings and we were on the road again.

Bravo! Thanks for such an encouraging report. Glad to hear the vacation went well and without a hitch (ok, just a small one) thanks to an excellent car.
Cheers,
Scott

I like hearing about long journeys in these cars, mine doesn't cover that per year never mind one trip. Nice one on the fix btw!
