Default 3rd Brakelight getting lazy

My wife was behind my 2000 XJ8 and noticed the 3rd brakelight didnt work. I look behind there and the light is just laying there. It looks as if the thing is glued to the back glass? What do re-attach that with? It seems kind of awkward to be glued to the window.

yeah they do fall if there is a glass shop near by i wud go to them.. they usually dont charge you anything.. if not.. crazy glue works good.. just make sure the metal pieces are cleaned and the old glue removed.. you can try different appoxys but it can be hit or miss with those..

I got my windows tinted on the 2001 a few weeks back and the tint shop broke the metal tab off the glass so my 3rd brake light did the same thing. I took it to our glass shop and he did it for free. I tipped him $20.00 of course.
I was going to use rear view mirror glue....he told me to stop and take it there. He removed the other metal tab also and cleaned them both up resecuring both. Looks brand new.
My advice....have them do it for you.

ok I took it yesterday to a body shop and they used a double sided "sponge-like" tape. looked great, until it got hot fell AGAIN i had gone to a couple windshield guys but they were all out in their vans fixing rock chips. i'm going to just get them to put me on their schedule and come to the house i guess.
