Default 6'6" tall. Should I look elsewhere?

LONG time fan of the X308. But its been years since i've sat in one. I remember I got in and thought I was comfortable but these arent exactly on every used car lot anymore these days and I'd like some input before putting in effort to track one down.

I'd LOVE to have something I could drive my kids around in the back (8 and 6 years old) with some comfort but this would likely be a daily driver for me.

XJR is my ideal car but a Vanden Plas with its longer wheel base would also work (Supercharged VDP?? LOL)

Anyone my height driving one of these around?

Welcome DGI, we hope we can assist with this and when you get yours, please introduce your new gal and yourself here... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/

Well, it depends on where your tall...I say that because I have a buddy who's 6' 3", but he doesn't have long legs and can get in and out of mine without issue.
There was a member about 2 yrs ago who inquired about moving the mounting rails back because he had long legs.
I have a SC VDP, love it.

At the top of this forum is a How To section and in it is a buyers guide list, amongst other listings of common problem fixes. These all need to be kept in mind, you don't want to pay full tilt for one, only to find you have to shell out another $2-3k to fix the PO's neglect. Depending on the MY, there are many different scenario's...such as 97-99 have the AJ26 engine and the 00-03 (x308 models ..and 03 was a mid year model change) have the AJ27 and each has its novelties.

There's also The Marketplace in the top task bar where you can shop for one if its available. After you reach your posting requirement, you can even put in a Wanted ad.

Don't be afraid to ask us about one you've found and want more insight...pics are a plus.

I am 6 feet tall and 160 lbs., I feel like that is already the max capacity of the X308 which it can take me.

I am a tall and slim (relatively) guy already...with the low roof line...it may not be a car for you....

Well I'm 6' 5" and about 170lbs and I fit and am comfortable however even if a kid sat in the seat behind me I wouldn't be able to be comfortable because my knees would be in the way of steering and my head would be on the headliner.

I’m 6’5” and about 195 lbs. For my height I have relatively short legs, long body. I fit quite comfortably in my XJR, and my car has the sun roof too. Admittedly the seat is all the way back and tilted too a bit. Not much room to sit behind me.

I find it a very comfortable driving position. However, I could have done without the sun roof. I never use it, it takes 1/2-3/4” of head room. And they are prone to all sorts of rust issues when the drains clog up.

The space in there is quite strange. I am 175 cm tall and about 75/80kg (~5'9" and ~170lbs) and while i fit in comfortably headroom is very limited (like I can squeeze my hand between the top of my head and the ceiling). My brother is a slim 190+cm guy (6'3"/6'"4) and a close friend of mine is the same height but used to weight 150 kg (330 lbs). Both fit comfortably with the same headroom as me.

For some reason it seems like everyone fits in there while feeling there's no way to squeeze in someone bigger than them.

I'm 5'6" and sometimes I can't see over the steering wheel... so I'm a bit useless with this really...

I am 6', my head just barely clears the headliner in my XJR. My son is 6'6" and basically can not drive it.
