Default '98 XJ8 front bumper sagging

Hi, the front bumper on my XJ8 VDP is showing a bit of a gap at each corner where it connects to the car near the front wheels. i can raise it back up a bit with my hand but then it settles back down. it seems to be more extreme on the driver's side, I'll take a pic tonight and post. i've noticed recently in posts people talking about taking care of bumper issues along with timing tensioners etc. as usual ailments for an XJ8. Is this what they mean by bumper issues, will it eventually fall off, can it be fitted up tight again?

You'll want to adjust the mounting brackets. You don't need much, BUT these can be solid and therefore not adjustable (little aluminium brackets which turn to dust).

so do you mean replace them with new units if they're not adjustable?

That is the only possibility. You can of course see if you can make them turn again, but normally the aluminium just corrodes and turns into salt...
